Additional Information
Minisymposia
A minisymposium consists of five presentations (20 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussions). To ensure balance, SIAM prefers a single individual not be the organizer of more than one minisymposium. In addition, SIAM discourages minisymposia in which most of the speakers or co-authors come from the same institution.
The GS19 Organizers also wish to encourage minisymposium organizers to leave one of the five slots per session open so that they can be filled by contributed talks on related topics
A minisymposium organizer may submit up to two minisymposium sessions. Minisymposium organizers may be asked to coordinate with other minisymposia that might be overlapping or closely related, or whenever a speaker appears in more than one minisymposium.
It is recommended that a minisymposium organizer make the first presentation. The organizing committee will review minisymposium proposals. The number of minisymposia may be limited to retain an acceptable level of parallelism in the conference sessions.
Be certain to review the Guidelines for Preparing a Minisymposium Proposal.
Prospective minisymposium organizers must submit a proposal consisting of a title, a description (not to exceed 1500 characters, including spaces), and a list of speakers and presentation titles using the Conference Management System.
Deadline for submission of minisymposium proposals: September 10, 2018
Deadline for submission of minisymposium speaker abstracts: October 1, 2018
Contributed Presentations in Lecture or Poster Format
Contributed presentations in lecture or poster format are invited in all areas consistent with the conference themes. Each contributor, either for a lecture or a poster, must submit a title and a brief abstract not to exceed 1,500 characters, including spaces.
A contributed talk is a 15-minute oral presentation with an additional 5 minutes for discussion. A poster involves the use of non-electronic visual aids for mounting on a 4’ x 8’ poster board.
Please submit contributed presentations in lecture or poster format using the Conference Management System.
Deadline for submission of contributed abstracts: October 1, 2018
